How to Get to As Catedrais Beach

By Car

Reaching As Catedrais Beach by car is very easy thanks to the Cantabrian Motorway (A8), which connects northern Spain with Galicia and offers direct access to the beach via exit 516.

From Ribadeo

The most direct route is via the A-8 motorway, with a dedicated exit for the beach (exit 516).
 For a faster drive, the N-634 will take you there in just 10 minutes.
 If you prefer a more scenic route, a coastal secondary road offers stunning views as you follow the beach route.

From Inland Areas

If you’re coming from central Spain, the best option is to take the A-66 towards Oviedo–Avilés and then connect with the A8.
 From the province of Lugo, the N-642 is the main road that links the northern part of the province to the beach.

By Taxi or Tourist Taxi

If you prefer to enjoy the landscape without worries, taking a taxi is a great option. From Ribadeo, you can take a regular taxi or choose the tourist taxi service to explore the area comfortably.

Bus

During the summer months (July, August, and September), a shuttle bus service connects Ribadeo with As Catedrais Beach. This bus not only helps you avoid parking difficulties in the area but also contributes to reducing traffic and protecting the natural environment.

Additionally, the bus ticket grants you direct access to the beach, as it serves as a valid access permit.

Train

If you prefer traveling by train, the Ferrol–Xixón railway line passes through Ribadeo, with nearby stops at Os Castros, Rinlo, and Esteiro. The Esteiro stop is the closest to the beach—just a 10-minute walk away.

By Bicycle

For those who prefer sustainable and active tourism, cycling is an excellent way to reach the beach. You can bring your own bike or rent one in Ribadeo. There are signposted routes that avoid main roads, allowing you to enjoy the scenery as you approach the beach.
